How to Change Logo of Pen-drive

 The logo of pendrive which is shown in the "Devices with the Removable Storage " section in "Computer" is very monotonous.

Let's change it and make this cool.

You can see I have changed it in my pen-drive. Really, you will need no additional software.

You have to download a image or select the image you want to set as your pen-drive's logo and take it to your desktop. [Yes, desktop. Because of only comfort of working]

.......like I have done here.

Thereafter, you have to right click on the image and select Edit .

You can see the image will be opened in MS Paint. ( See below). There you have to crop the image to square or almost square. And then go to save as.

You have to be specially careful while saving. ( See image below ).

While saving you can name it whatever you want. [ like I have written "miles" ]

Now, you must click on the "Save as type" drop down button & select 24-bit Bitmap option

Now you have to make a text file.

Right click on desktop and select new, then, select New text document.

You have to write a code here like I have written..........

[autorun]

icon = {your file/imae's name}.bmp

You can copy it from here but remember to put the same name with which you saved your image in the place of {your file/image's name} .

Now again go to save as.

There you have to simply name it precisely as I am writing

autorun.inf

Then, you have to click on "Save as type " drop down and select All files . Now, save it.

Now you have two files in desktop {the edited image and the text file}. Cut them and paste them in your pendrive.

Thereafter, refresh the pendrive and eject it. Then, re-enter that.

Ta-da!!

The logo is changed already.

This trick applicable for  windows XP, 7 , 8, 8.1, 10 and above.

The two files in pen-drive is looking weird. You have to hide it.

1. Windows 7

Atfirst, open your pen-drive and select those two files.

Then, click on Organise option above and select properties.

Now click on the tick-box of Hidden.

All done.

2. Windows 10

Go to view bar and press on the Show hide button.

Now it is all done.

You can go to show your friend to impress them.

Now Here's Question for You:-

Can you eject the pen-drive without ejecting it physically?
